Cinderella - July 17 - July 20, 2014

Apollo Civic Theatre

 End Notes

A note from the Director:

Almost everyone knows the story of Cinderella: the romance, the magic, the fantastic choice of footwear. All these components truly make for a delightful tale. Nonetheless, I do not believe the core of this story is about a young couple falling in love. Instead, I propose the heart of the play lies with the repeated statement “Impossible things are happening every day.” This is the story of a young girl who dares to dream big and stay positive. Sure, she has some assistance along the way; but, without her persistence none of her wishing would come to fruition. The story of Cinderella has inspired me to chase my dreams since I played the title character with YSTW thirteen years ago.  I hope that this production motivates these young actors to do the same. May we all be brave in our imagination and pursuits.

A note from the Producers:

The Youth Summer Theatre Workshop has pratically become an institution in itself.  Our youth look forward to our workshop each year.  They foster friendships, and learn skills that will last them a lifetime. It is our privilege to decide on a show, organize and watch everything come together for our wonderful production.  Your children are amazing!  In five short weeks they master lines, songs and choreography.  We realize as a parent how inspiring it is to see your child on stage, we know you will leave the theatre bursting with pride!

Thank you to our production staff, we love you and couldn't do it without you!
