Welcome to East High School!
Ms. Darbus tells her students, "It's an honor and a privilege watching you risk, risk, risk." As silly as this line may sound, our HSM production has shown us all how true this statement is. When an actor steps out onto the stage to perform, or a technician brings up a light or a microphone or a prop or a costume, someone is taking a chance. Someone is opening his/her heart to the possibility that anything can happen, if we all work together and support each other. The risk becomes even greater when we step outside of conventional expectations to express our true selves. Then, not only do we discover that we all have different abilities and interests, but we realize that it is through the act of sharing our diverse capabilities that we enrich our lives and make our community stronger. To my HSM cast/crew, it has been my honor and privilege to take these risks with you. You really are all stars! Make your dreams come true.
