A note from our Choreographer, Ms. Paige Rzepka:
It’s been a "creepy and kooky" experience working on The Addams Family this year! The absurd hilarity that comes with the characters and plot of this show has been a perfect match for our cast. Everyone’s truly embraced "what it is to be an Addams," and I cannot put into words how proud I am of their hard work and dedication over the last few months.
No show comes without its challenges. This year we lost nearly a week of rehearsals due to the winter storm we had back in January. Despite this significant setback, everyone rallied together and worked to ensure that the show would be ready for this weekend. The long rehearsals certainly paid off, though, and now we have a fantastic show to share with you all.
I’ve had the privilege of knowing many of our graduating seniors since they were in 5th grade. If you would’ve told me that the kids I worked with during the Summer Rec Drama Program would end up continuing on to become the leads in the high school musical (and I’d still be around to see them do it), my 18-year-old self would have shed some tears. The kids that I worked with back then confirmed for me that I was entering the right profession and that good things were coming my way. Seven years later, here I am watching those same kids shine on stage and prepare to take on the next chapters of their lives. It has been such a gift to know and work with these students for as long as I have, and I can’t wait to see all of the incredible things they will accomplish in the years to come.
Alden has a fantastic team that puts these shows together every year–I’m so grateful to be a part of it. Thank you all for coming to see the show this weekend. Our program thrives on support from our audiences, so thank you for sharing your time with us today.
Enjoy your time with everyone’s favorite “mysterious and spooky” family!
