Howdy from the Big Blue World!
Each year, I continue to be more and more impressed by the incredible talent of our students at Pecan Trail Intermediate. Finding Nemo Jr. is truly something special. This show is packed with so much heart, and the music is impossible to resist—thanks to the brilliant minds of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. We’re no strangers to the Anderson-Lopez family, as they also created the unforgettable music for Frozen Jr..
This year, we had the honor of fine-tuning the show with Broadway royalty himself, The Phantom of the Opera's Ben Crawford. Ben had nothing but amazing things to say about our kids. He was incredibly impressed by their singing and creativity in their acting. Another fun twist? We decided to theme the entire show in the vibrant 80s! Get ready to enjoy all the neon colors, geometric patterns, and that totally rad vibe!
I’d also like to take a moment to thank a few very special people:
Our Directing Team (Stephanie Morris, Sarah Campbell, and Josh Zehnder): Thank you so much for taking this journey with us. Each of you brought your unique strengths to this show, and our students have benefitted so much because of it! This show requires a lot of help, and I’m beyond grateful to have you all with me.
Mr. Williamson and the AMCHS Theatre Program: A huge thank you for opening your doors to us, helping with technical needs, and building several of our large set pieces. We can’t wait to collaborate with you again soon!
Principal Cain: Your support means the world to us. Thank you for championing our show and sharing photos and updates on social media. We couldn’t ask for a better advocate.
The CSISD Fine Arts Office (Eric Eaks and Adrienne Watson): Thank you for your continued support and for helping us gather everything we needed to make this show a success.
To Nate, Dorothy, and Mary Grace: Dada loves you!
To Bobbi: Best of wives, best of women.
