A NOTE FROM YOUR DIRECTOR
Pinocchio was one of the first Disney films I ever saw as a child. From the opening song, When You Wish Upon A Star, the dancing puppets, the toy shop and the incredible backdrop of Geppetto's Italian village, I was fascinated! This particular telling of the story has been given a refresh by blending the beloved Disney score with a host of new songs by Oscar- and Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (WICKED, PIPPIN, GODSPELL). My Son Pinocchio takes a very honest look at the relationship between a parent and child. At its heart this is a story about finding a balance in raising our children with tradition while also allowing them to grow up with their own life goals and world views. It is a lesson in accepting that the perfect faultless person does not exist. We are all (adults and children alike) imperfect. Loving each other for our differing talents and abilities is the greatest gift we can give to eachother.
