    Tom Dobes

    Technical Director/Sound Design

    Tom Dobes (Sound Design & Sound Board Operator) has been involved with RMT/M&M shows for eleven years, beginning with Brigadoon in 1998.  Over the years, Tom has also served as technical director for many  Merrillville High School drama/musical productions, choir concerts, and for outside organizations who rent Reinhart Auditorium.  M&M/Ross love having Tom around because he can fix just about anything. Tom, is the one responsible for the live internet broadcast of our 1940s style radio shows, he devised a wireless way to control a battery-operated a set of LEDs for Cinderella’s carriage, he single-handedly keeps all 30 of our cordless mics usable.  Tom also does all the technical work for Indiana Youth Ballet’s Nutcracker and Peter Pan.   Currently, Tom is works in IT at University of Chicago

    Costumes Design and Build

    Georgia is a graduate of MHS where she was introduced to theatre over 45 years ago. Georgia has done everything from playing major roles, to makeup, to sewing and designing costumes. Georgia has helped both with high school productions as well as Ross Summer Music Theatre. She has designed/ built costumes for everything from Beauty and the Beast" to Spamalot. It is wonderful to have her expertise!

    Will Akins

    Assistant to the Director/ Crew Chief Stage Manager

    William “Will” Akins hails from Merrillville, Indiana. His grandmother and parents sang in the church choir but never sang seriously. Will was in his first musical , RMT's Scrooge", as a chorus member and the very next show he was a supporting character in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera. Since that time, he became actively involved in Ross Music Theatre, he also led the casts of Cabaret and Vincennes University and A Raisin in the Sun. Some of Will’s on stage credits with Ross include Music Man, Les’ Miserables. Mr. Akins also has worked as a stage manager, fight choreographer, make-up artist, and production assistant. Will currently attends Indiana state University pursuing a degree in music education and he works for the Community School of the Arts teaching theatre, voice, and piano. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a men's music fraternity. Will has also been a magician for about 13 years.
