Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida - January 12 - February 17, 2018

Mysterium Theater (La Habra, CA)

 ~ Producer's Note ~

As a producer, I listen to our audiences and try to select shows that are meaningful and challenging both artistically and to create an atmosphere for thought provoking conversations, and sometimes, to move our audiences to take action.  Aida is one of those shows.  We live in a time that is scary to be from a particular ethnicity religion or sexual orientation.  We often think, love will conquer all and that will get us thru.  But, with the current political climate of the world, we need to do more.  Sometimes, doing more is telling a story.  I want to thank our fabulous director, Edgar Torrens for bringing together this fine cast to tell this story that rips my heart out every time. This lovely group of artists does so much to bring this story, and all the emotions, to life.  I want to thank them so much for giving us their talents and their compassion and their loving hearts.  I want to thank you for coming to the theater and supporting us and helping us to grow.  With our growth, we help the community to grow and develop. It is our belief that theater has the power to change the world by creating a forum for ideas to be shared, discussed, and then acted upon. It is important to bring shows with a message of love to each other, especially when we are bombarded by incidents such as Las Vegas, Texas or the threats from North Korea.  It is important to use our voice top stand up against tyranny and bigotry and hate. It has been a lifelong dream to bring theater to the community and to help it heal in such a powerful and beautiful way.

Aida is the first show of our 9th season and it is our dream is to bring you the best theater you have come to expect from Mysterium Theater. With the new season, we are ever so appreciative and grateful to have you joining us.  There are so many ways to help us celebrate.   We invite you to come play with us and become involved.  You can become an actor or techie for one of our upcoming productions.  You can volunteer to help bring more exciting theater to the community.  You can become a flex ticket holder which allows you discounts on wonderful live entertainment.  You can become a donor and help us to bring these shows to life.

We hope you have enjoyed Aida, and if you do, please spread the word and help us fill our seats and change the world.  We change it by bringing ideas that allow discussion, by bringing audiences to a different environment and let them escape from the realities and stresses, and by bringing some fun and joy and some heart to their lives.   Thank you for helping us to change the world…one show at a time …
