Dean Messerly

as Mr. Popper

Dean has appeared in many MCT musical productions including principal roles in "Peter Pan, "Oliver" & several Gala's. He also has stage credits with The Des Moines Community Playhouse and has sung leading roles with Madison Savoyards Opera Company, St. Bernard Players in Madison, WI and Cedar Falls Community Theater. He is employed at the Marshalltown Post Office. He and his family live in Conrad.
Aubrey Does

as Mrs. Popper

Aubrey is a local resident originally from Blaine, MN. She first appeared on our stage in last summer's musical production of "Peter Pan" where she says she was bitten "by the community theatre bug" while playing the grown-up Wendy. She is actively involved at Restore Church, works part-time at Members 1st Credit Union and "loves greeting my kids after school every day!"
Jenna Humphrey

as Janie Popper

Jenna is a Gladbrook resident, originally from Rockford, IL. She attended MCT Summer Theater Camp last year and wanted to continue her stage experience. She is a fifth grader at GMG Elementary school, plays AAU volleyball and plays the flute. She is also a member of Gladbrook Guys and Gals 4-H club. "Mr. Popper's Penguins" is her first stage production.
Cole Scafferi

as Billy Popper

Cole lives in Beaman and is an 8th grader at BCLUW where he participates in cross country and trap shooting. He enjoys playing Xbox, camping & attending the Iowa State Fair with his friends and family. Cole has participated in church plays and attended the MCT Summer Acting Camp last year. He says he's having a blast in his first MCT production & looks forward to participating in many more plays.
Aaron DeBoer

as Captain Cook

Aaron is a graduate of Northwestern College in Orange City with a BA in Music. He plays percussion, piano and sings. He has experience at the Old Factory Theater in Orange City in productions including "Side Effects", "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and "Fierce Hearts". He was also active on stage in high school plays and musicals. He currently is employed by the MCC Bookstore in Marshalltown.
