  • Hollie Michaels

    Director

    Hollie MIchaels is the theater teacher at HMS and is originally from South Florida. She has worked in theater, film and TV in Chicago, L.A., London and NYC.  As a youth  director she has had productions at Hamden High School, Brooklyn Technical High School, School of Journalism and Technology,  and William Alexander Middle School. As a director she has also had productions at The Producers Club, The Brooklyn Lyceum, TSI/Play Time Series, Brooklyn One, Hudson Shakespeare Company of NJ, Manhattan Repertory Theater Company, The Heights Players Theater, and The Public Theater as part of a night of US / UK exchange Cabaret produced by Old Vic New Voices Network. Hollie's youth play "Children of Hooverville" is published with YOUTHplays. She has a M.A. in Creative Writing (Plays) from City University of London, M.S. ED in Educational Theatre from City College of New York and a B.A. in Film Production (Directing /Screenwriting) from Columbia College Chicago.

  • E.B. White

    Based on the Book by

    E.B. White was born in New York in 1899. In 1927, White joined The New Yorker magazine as writer and contributing editor. He wrote three books for children, including Stuart Little(1945) and Charlotte's Web (1952). White, who earned a Pulitzer Prize special citation in 1978, passed away at his home in Maine in 1985.

  • Joseph Robinette

    Adapted by

    Joseph Robinette is a Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award nominee for the libretto of the acclaimed A Christmas Story, The Musical. He is the author or co-author of 55 published plays and musicals. His works have been produced at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, The Theater at Madison Square Garden and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

  • Marydell Merrill

    Costume Designer

    Marydell is an actor, director, educator, and the Artistic Director at HHS. She is a member of Actors’ Equity Association and the former State Director of Connecticut Thespians.  Marydell was the recipient of the 2014 Hall of Fame Award from the North East Educational Theatre Festival, the 2014 Inspirational Theatre Educator Award and 2017 CT Theater Educator of the Year from the Thespian Society.
