    Melissa Friedman is Co-founder and Co-Artistic Director of Epic Theatre Ensemble and has performed in numerous Epic Off-Broadway productions including Hannah and MartinMacbeth, Born with Teeth, Einstein's Gift, A Hard Heart, and A More Perfect Union. Other Off-Broadway & Regional credits include Degenerate Art, Much Ado About Nothing (Irondale Ensemble)An Ideal Husband (Tennessee Rep), Last Night of Ballyhoo (Fulton Theatre), and Substance of Fire, Macbeth, and Henry IV (Old Globe). Melissa annually directs Epic’s Shakespeare Remix productions for which, on behalf of Epic, she received the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House. She co-developed Epic’s Citizen Artist curriculum, continues to act as a Lead Teaching Artist in Epic’s partner schools and directs the first year training program for Epic’s youth theatre company – Epic NEXT.
