Lance Phillips-Martinez
Director
Lance is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of DESERT THEATREWORKS and has directed dozens of mainstage productions since our inaugural production of UP in July 2013. Lance oversees the production staff, artistic development, season planning and education at DTW. He has also won awards in several amateur playwriting festivals. Since the age of eight, he has been performing on stages across California and eventually (at the age of 19) toured across as a professional singer and actor. Lance later began working for a few successful community theatres and Colleges and began his directing career. Lance has taught Theatre and Musical Theatre in the Public School system, but would rather share the skills he has with the community here in the Coachella Valley.

Ron Phillips-Martinez
Producer
Ron is the CEO and Co-Founder of Desert Theatreworks and has designed sets, costumes and produced every show at DTW. He also co-directed Married Alive! Prior to DTW, Ron worked for and was a consultant to community and private foundations in the Bay Area, Such as, the San Francisco Foundation and the Stuart Foundation. Ron also owned several business in the dental manufacturing field as well as other medical billing businesses.

Stephen Blackwell
Assistant Director
Stephen is a DTW veteran, having worked both onstage and off for multiple DTW shows. He has been nominated multiple times for various roles by the Desert Theatre League. Outside of the theater, He is a certified Pilates Instructor at Club Pilates. He also collects and reads comic books, and is very happy to be asked to work alongside Lance again as Assistant Director with this talented cast.
