The goal of a great light and sound system is to go unnoticed and make the actors the stars.

Thanks to generous donations from the family of Avery and Sydnee Maxwell the Breitfeller Theater received some much needed updates. The old sound system has been completely replaced, and the theatrical lights have been updated to a modern control system. The new light system replaced the old system that was installed nearly 60 years ago. Many of the fixtures and bulbs are still useful, but they will be slowly replaced with LED and other modern lamps.

Aside from the generous monetary donations, there were well over 100 volunteer hours put into it.  These hours were provided by Rusty Michel, Kevin Jones, Justin Dosch, and Ryan Lepi. A special thanks to Pat Durant for his assistance, and a special thanks to Mark Douglas of Mark Douglas Lighting for his expertise and technical help.

Not only will the new systems add to the theater experience, but it will also allow students to learn the art and science behind lights and sound. We hope to have students operate the equipment and work with the director in telling the story.
